A Tribute to Olympic Heritage

Scout Motors has introduced the "Traveler Spirit of '26," a design concept that serves as both a nod to the rich history of International Harvester and a commemorative gesture ahead of America's 250th anniversary. This design revives a specific aesthetic rooted in the 1976 Winter Olympics held in Innsbruck, Austria.

During those games, International provided a fleet of 17 red, white, and blue Scout Travelers and Scout II Traveltops to support the U.S. Ski Team. This collaboration famously led to the "Spirit of '76" retail edition, which featured distinctive denim accents and a Wedgwood Blue cabin.

Modern Interpretation of a Classic Look

For this contemporary iteration, the team at Scout applied a patriotic livery to the flat-sided body panels of the Traveler. The design integrates graphics inspired by the past, complemented by the classic Harvester branding embossed on the vehicle's sides. While the production electric vehicle is currently scheduled to reach customers between late 2027 and early 2028, the company has released this concept alongside a collection of themed apparel and accessories, such as vintage-style T-shirts and a custom cooler bag.

Production Progress in South Carolina

The brand remains committed to its 2027 production target, although it notes that timelines are subject to change. Construction at the assembly facility in Blythewood, South Carolina, is progressing steadily. Recent reports indicate that crews are currently paving primary access roads and finalizing the construction of surrounding infrastructure for key suppliers.
