The world's largest EV conversion specialist, Electric Classic Cars (ECC), has developed a modular, plug-and-play electric skateboard chassis specifically for vintage pickup trucks and SUVs. This ready-made solution aims to simplify the conversion process for body-on-frame vehicles like the Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco.
The chassis features dual Tesla-sourced motors providing all-wheel drive and up to 530 horsepower. It includes independent suspension, limited-slip differentials, and modern electronics like traction control. Battery options are 56 kWh or 82 kWh packs, both with DC fast-charging capability.
Designed for on-road performance and light off-roading, conversions using this platform are expected to achieve 0-60 mph in under four seconds. ECC plans to ship the chassis globally to restoration shops, offering a new path for electrifying classics without major compromises to space or design.
