Mercedes-Benz is preparing to unveil its first fully electric C-Class sedan, and a preview reveals a dramatically different interior centered around an enormous screen. While some automakers are scaling back on massive digital displays, Mercedes is committing further, offering an optional seamless "Hyperscreen" or a standard "Superscreen" grouping three displays under one glass panel.
The cabin design is visually identical to the electric GLC SUV, featuring carved door panels, a simplified console with cupholders and device space, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. It also inherits the GLC's new seats and a panoramic glass roof embedded with illuminated three-pointed stars.
The brand promises numerous trim, color, and material options, including vegan and Nappa leather, birch wood, and carbon fiber. While full specifications are pending, the electric C-Class is expected to share its powertrain with the GLC EV, which uses a 94.0-kWh battery and offers up to 483 horsepower in its top configuration.
The official debut of the new Mercedes-Benz electric C-Class is scheduled for Monday, April 20.
