The centerpiece of the new Genesis GV90 NeoLun is its unique approach to vehicle entry. Moving away from standard configurations, the manufacturer has introduced a sophisticated “dual-motion hinge” system for its coach doors. This mechanism allows the rear doors to slide outward before rotating, enabling them to operate independently of the front doors. To address safety concerns typically associated with pillarless designs, the vehicle features an integrated structure where the doors lock directly into the body using high-strength steel beams. The cabin is further shielded by a specialized frame, which is 50 percent thicker than those found in standard vehicles, functioning essentially as an internal roll cage.


Performance and Powertrain

The GV90 is built on the brand’s proprietary eMP electric vehicle architecture, optimized for spaciousness and ride comfort. Powering the SUV is a 123.5 kWh battery pack—the most substantial unit ever deployed by the Hyundai Motor Group. While the estimated range stands at 311 miles per charge, the platform supports rapid charging capabilities, allowing the battery to replenish from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes when utilizing a 350kW charger.

The dual-motor powertrain produces 657 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. To manage its considerable dimensions, the SUV is equipped with an adjustable multi-chamber air suspension system and active rear-wheel steering, which can pivot up to five degrees to improve maneuverability in tight spaces.


Ultra-Luxury Interior Experience

Genesis has focused heavily on creating an immersive cabin experience. Key technological highlights include:

  • Cinematic Display: A screen that expands from 23.6 inches while driving to 24.6 inches in parking mode.
  • Advanced Audio: A 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system that uses “virtual venue” technology to mimic the acoustics of world-renowned concert halls.
  • Smart Vision Roof: A panoramic glass roof with six-zone opacity control.
  • Comfort Features: Beyond traditional massage seats, the vehicle includes genuine wood flooring equipped with radiant heating.
“The interior material palette features a blend of natural woods, cashmere, leather, and stone, offered in five curated color combinations that emphasize a high-end aesthetic,” the company noted.

Market Outlook

The front seats are designed to swivel, transforming the cabin into a social space. With a projected market entry in early 2027, the GV90 series aims to challenge established luxury players. While official pricing has not been disclosed, market analysts expect the vehicle to start in the $100,000 range, targeting buyers who prioritize distinct design and avant-garde technology.
