Hongqi, China's premier luxury automotive brand, is making a bold play for the global top tier with the release of the Guoya sedan. Moving beyond the premium category, this vehicle represents the pinnacle of the brand's output, officially joining the exclusive Golden Sunflower family—a collection reserved for the most prestigious and sophisticated vehicles manufactured by the FAW Group.

The Guoya's debut in Russia serves as a significant milestone, distancing the model from typical mass-market exports. While the car remains a rare sight even in its home market of China, its pricing in Russia—starting at 27.7 million rubles and reaching 31.7 million rubles for the V8 Imperial trim—firmly anchors it in the territory of established European flagship sedans.


Symbolism and Design Philosophy

Unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the Guoya—a name translating to "national elegance"—is designed to embody a fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetic values and modern automotive opulence. Every aspect of the vehicle, from its hood ornament to its signature lighting, is engineered to project a formal, ceremonial presence that differentiates it from conventional executive cars.

In terms of scale, the Guoya is a titan, boasting a wheelbase of 128.3 inches and an overall length of 210.7 inches. These dimensions align it closely with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8, though its market positioning seeks to challenge even more exclusive, Maybach-level offerings.


Performance and Engineering

Despite its massive frame, the sedan maintains a commendable 0.27 drag coefficient. The engineering architecture is equally sophisticated, featuring:
