The 21st annual Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace has officially commenced, showcasing a diverse array of automotive excellence. While high-profile reveals from Lamborghini and Polestar captured significant attention, the event highlighted a growing industry trend: the sophisticated integration of zero-emission technology into both historic vehicles and modern performance machines.


The Electrified Phantom VI: Ceremonial Duty Reimagined

One of the most noteworthy unveilings came from Oxford-based specialist Electrogenic, which debuted a fully electrified 1973 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI. Commissioned for the City of London’s Lord Mayor, the project serves as a practical solution to align official ceremonial duties with the Corporation’s goal of achieving net-zero operations by 2027.

Rather than consigning the vintage vehicle to a museum, the team preserved the original cabin and coachwork while replacing the internal combustion engine with a modern electric drivetrain. Reflecting on the project, CEO Steve Drummond noted:

«It is the ideal ceremonial limousine, full of character.»

The Krafla: A Focus on Driver Engagement

On the high-performance front, Giamaro Automobili utilized the event to host the UK debut of the Krafla hypercar. Featuring exposed carbon fiber and an emphasis on functional aerodynamics, the vehicle is designed as a direct response to the digital-heavy trend of current hypercars. Roberta Bicocchi of Giamaro emphasized that the car is intended for collectors who prioritize raw, authentic driving experiences over mere technological spectacle.


Mainstream Debuts and Industry Evolution

The event also featured several high-performance milestones, including:

  • Lamborghini: Showcased the Revuelto SV, marking it as the most powerful and fastest production vehicle in the brand's history.
  • BRABUS: Introduced two UK exclusives, including the BODO grand tourer with a hand-assembled twin-turbo V12 engine and the 800 Cabrio based on the Mercedes-AMG G63.
  • Polestar: Presented the Polestar 4, an SUV aimed at offering increased practicality and interior space.

The festival continues to thrive by balancing the debut of advanced modern machinery with the craft of restomod specialists like Petroyle, Talos, and Theon Design. As the event progresses through September 6, the Concours field will see 70 rare automobiles competing for the prestigious 'Best of Show' title across twelve distinct categories.
