A New Chapter in Audi’s SUV Lineup

Audi has officially expanded its vehicle range with the introduction of the Q9, the largest SUV ever produced by the manufacturer. Marking the first instance of the '9' designation in the company’s history, the vehicle boasts impressive dimensions, stretching 5.31 meters in length and 2.21 meters in width. This release positions the Q9 as one of the most substantial European-built passenger vehicles expected to hit the market later this year.

Interior Space and Comfort

The vehicle is designed with versatility at its core, offering a standard seven-seat configuration. For customers prioritizing extra passenger room, a six-seat variant is also available. A standout feature is Audi’s most expansive panoramic sunroof to date, covering over 1.5 square meters. This glass roof offers tilting and sliding capabilities and includes adjustable ambient illumination. Notably, it features smart technology that allows it to turn opaque when the vehicle is parked, preventing the interior from overheating.

Occupant comfort is prioritized through high-end equipment:

  • Electrically adjustable seating across all rows.
  • Standard heating, ventilation, and massage functions for front-row seats.
  • Integrated heating for door and central armrests, which activates alongside seat heating systems.

Technology and Connectivity

The cabin is packed with digital integration, including dual wireless smartphone charging pads as a standard feature. The dashboard setup is centered around a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, complemented by an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a dedicated 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. Furthermore, the inclusion of ChatGPT allows users to retrieve information effortlessly via voice commands.

Performance and Powertrain

Under the hood, the Q9 is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine enhanced by mild-hybrid technology. This system utilizes a dedicated generator to provide an additional 24bhp and 370Nm of torque, significantly boosting performance. Power is delivered to all four wheels through Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel-drive system, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The new Audi Q9 is scheduled to be available for purchase starting next month, with initial customer deliveries projected for the end of the year.
