Engine Overhaul Drives Price Adjustments

Following the official unveiling of the third-generation Audi Q7 and the high-performance SQ7 last month, the German automaker has released updated pricing details. The comprehensive redesign, which introduces fresh exterior styling and a revamped dual-screen cockpit, comes with a notable increase in the vehicle's starting price—nearly $9,000 for the base model.

This significant hike is primarily attributed to a major restructuring of the powertrain options. Audi has discontinued both the entry-level 261-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the previously available 335-hp 3.0-liter V6.

For the 2027 model year, the standard Q7 lineup has been streamlined to feature a singular, potent powertrain:

  • Engine: 429-horsepower twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6
  • Transmission: Eight-speed automatic
  • Drivetrain: Quattro all-wheel drive

This configuration allows the luxury SUV to achieve a 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.8 seconds, performance metrics typically associated with sports sedans.

Updated Trim Levels and Pricing Structure

The 2027 U.S.-spec Audi Q7 maintains its familiar three-tier trim structure, though every level now commands a higher premium compared to its predecessor. The current starting prices (including destination fees) are as follows:

  • Premium: $72,XXX (features a 14.5-inch MMI display and front sport seats)
  • Premium Plus: $76,XXX (adds Bang & Olufsen audio, advanced interior LEDs, and Matrix headlights)
  • Prestige: $86,XXX (includes the executive luxury package and variable light glass roof)

For perspective, last year’s four-cylinder Premium Plus model started at $67,095, while the previous V6 variant began at $74,495. The top-tier Prestige trim now reflects an $8,000 increase over the 2026 version.

The 591-HP Audi SQ7 Flagship

For drivers seeking maximum performance, the reworked 2027 Audi SQ7 arrives with a starting MSRP of $99,995. The SUV’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine has undergone a recalibration, boosting output from 500 hp to a formidable 591 hp. This upgrade enables the three-row SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.7 seconds.

Unlike the previous model year, which offered separate Premium Plus and Prestige tiers for the SQ7, Audi has consolidated the 2027 model into a single, highly-equipped standalone trim.

Availability and Customization

The digital configurator is now accessible via Audi’s consumer portal. While Carrara White is the only paint option included in the base price, various metallic finishes are available for an additional $595. According to the manufacturer, initial deliveries in North America are slated for the fourth quarter of 2026.
